Privacy

Rentmaxxer (rentmaxxer.com) shows affordable-housing listings from official public sources and estimates which ones you could qualify for. This page says what we keep and why.

What we never ask for

Your Social Security number, date of birth, names of household members, phone number, documents or passwords for housing portals. You apply yourself, on the official site.

What we keep

• Your answers to the four questions (apartment sizes, cities, rental assistance, household size, income range). Before you sign up they live only in a signed cookie in your browser for 7 days.
• Your email address, if you sign up, to send sign-in links and the alerts you choose.
• Optional exact figures (yearly income, savings) if you add them, to check listing limits more precisely.
• Your matches and when we last told you about them, so we don't email the same listing twice.
• Usage events on our own server (pages viewed, wizard steps, clicks to official applications), tied to a random browser id, to improve the service. No advertising pixels, no session recording, no third-party analytics.
• Sign-in links: we store only a one-way hash of each link and the IP address it was requested from, to stop abuse.

Cookies

A random browser id (aid), the wizard answers (wiz), your session after you sign in (sid). All are needed for the site to work; none are used for advertising.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the service that delivers our emails. We do not sell or rent your data.

Deleting your data

Delete your account at any time from My account: your email, answers, figures and matches are removed at once.
